As the sun begins to shine for the summer in Liverpool, most people will be thinking of packing their bags and going on holiday.

Built in 1869, it is the second oldest seaside golf club in the country for the first seven years it doubled up as its previous function a racetrack.
Several amateur tournaments were staged at the club over the next 100 years and in 2006 the PGA Open Championship was staged at the club, won by Tiger Woods. The Royal Liverpool Golf Club will also hold the championship in 2014.
Other golf clubs in Liverpool, such as the Royal Birkdale, which has been voted Britain's number one golf club, will prove to have a successful summer and many tourists will look to combine a golfing holiday with a stay in Merseyside. In fact, this part of the country is often referred to as Britain's Golf Coast.
